Android kiosk Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting with Network ErrorSolved

One of our Android devices in kiosk mode started showing a Network Error on the kiosk screen. The Wi-Fi itself is working, but the device keeps dropping offline in Hexnode and the last check-in time becomes old. The router shows that DHCP had assigned an IP and MAC to the device, but the IP is sometimes unreachable. Restarting the access point helped briefly, but the device disconnected again later. The device is locked in kiosk, so we cannot easily open Android Wi-Fi settings locally. We also want email alerts whenever this kind of disconnection happens. What is the best way to fix this permanently?

We created a static IP reservation on the router while the device was still using the randomized MAC. It connected for a bit, then dropped again. Should we disable MAC randomization after creating the static reservation, or can that cause more issues?

What about enabling Wi-Fi controls in the kiosk policy? If we enable those options, can someone standing near the kiosk turn off Wi-Fi locally? That would be a problem for us.

We also need email alerts when a kiosk goes offline. We tried inactivity alerts, but one alert came in even though the screen looked active and the kiosk app was functioning.
