We have Android tablets running Hexnode Kiosk Browser in kiosk mode for a web app that should stay logged in for more than 30 days. In Action History, I see the Hexnode Kiosk Browser getting installed on each device around 1–2 times a month.
The web app developers say users should only be asked to log in again if the browser or the device restarts. In practice, we are having to manually log in on the tablets much more often.
A couple of questions:
1. Are these “Install Application” entries just browser updates or something else?
2. Does this installation close or restart the kiosk browser?
3. Can Hexnode Kiosk Browser automatically log in to a website using saved credentials?
4. If the updates are causing this, is there a way to make them less frequent or run them only during off-hours?
The “Clear cookies on exit” and “Clear cache on exit” options are already disabled in the kiosk policy.
