Android Enterprise setup redirects to Google Admin Console for a non-Workspace domainSolved

Android Enterprise does not require Google Workspace when you are setting up a Managed Google Play Accounts Enterprise through Hexnode.

However, this redirect usually happens when Google recognizes the domain as being associated with Google services in some way. Even if the organization does not actively use Google Workspace, the domain may have been used previously with services such as Cloud Identity, Google Play Console, a Workspace trial, or another legacy Google service.

When Google flags the domain this way, it treats the setup as a domain-level Google organization binding and sends the user to the Google Admin Console. In that path, Google expects a Google Workspace or Cloud Identity Super Admin to approve the Android Enterprise binding.

For organizations using Microsoft Entra ID instead of Google Workspace, the recommended workaround is to register Android Enterprise using a standard Gmail account:

1. In Hexnode, go to Enroll > Android Enterprise.

2. Start the Managed Domain enrollment again.

3. Select Register with Google.

4. Sign in using a standard @gmail.com account instead of the work-domain account.

5. Choose the Android-only signup option when prompted.

6. Enter the organization details, accept the Managed Google Play agreement, and complete registration.

This creates a Managed Google Play Accounts Enterprise linked to Hexnode and avoids the Google Admin Console domain check. It does not replace Microsoft Entra ID as your identity provider.
