Android store app says update required but user has no permissionSolved

One Android phone has a managed store app that keeps saying an update is required. The user can’t update it themselves because app install/update permissions are restricted on the device. I checked the app in the console and didn’t see an obvious update pending. Is there a way to push the latest version remotely from Hexnode?

Hi @nevaeh,

For an Android store app managed through Hexnode, you can trigger the update by sending the install command for the same app again.

Try this:

  1. On the Hexnode UEM portal, navigate to Manage > Devices.
  2. Select the affected Android device.
  3. Click Actions > Applications > Install application.
  4. Select the app that needs to be updated.
  5. Click Install.
  6. After that, run Actions > Scanning & Monitoring > Scan Device.

Wait until both actions show as completed in Action History. If a newer version of the managed store app is available, the install command should deploy the latest available version to the device. The scan action then refreshes the device inventory and app status in the portal.
