Enrolling headless Android and Linux DevicesSolved

I have headless devices used as speakers. They run Android OEM builds without Google Play Store, while some of our other devices run Linux. The devices do not have screens and are designed to start operating automatically when connected to power.

We want to enroll and manage these devices using an MDM. Since they are headless, we need an enrollment method that does not depend on interacting with a screen. What approach would you recommend for each platform?

Hey grace_t,

For headless Android devices, you could check whether zero-touch enrollment is supported for your device. This would require coordination with the OEM or authorized reseller to ensure the device is eligible and configured for provisioning.

For the Linux devices, you could try accessing the device remotely through SSH and running the Hexnode enrollment commands in the terminal. This worked in my case, provided SSH access was configured on the device.

Hope this helps!
