Prevent users from locking iPads with the power button in kiosk modeSolved

We have iPads running in web app kiosk mode with a web clip and web content filtering. Auto-lock is already disabled, but users can still press the top power button and lock the iPad screen.

The devices have a passcode, and we don’t want to share that passcode with end users just so they can unlock the iPad again. Is there a way in Hexnode to stop the power button from locking the screen while the iPad is in kiosk mode?

Hello @luuk ,

Yes. In a Hexnode iOS kiosk policy, you can disable the Sleep wake button so users cannot lock the iPad or turn off the display using the top power button while kiosk mode is active.

Configure it from:

  1. Go to Policies and edit your iPad kiosk policy.
  2. Navigate to Web App > Advanced Kiosk Settings.
  3. Find Sleep wake button.
  4. Set it to Disabled.
  5. Save the policy and ensure it is associated with the target iPads.

Once the updated policy is applied, pressing the top power button should no longer lock the iPad screen. This lets the device remain in kiosk mode without requiring the device passcode to be shared with users.
