iOS enrollment stuck with scan in progress and Hexnode app not appearingSolved

A newly enrolled iPhone shows as enrolled, but the Hexnode app has not appeared on the device and the Scan Device action has been running for a long time. The enrollment steps were completed correctly on the phone, and APNs is still valid. Another iPhone enrolled successfully earlier on the same day, so I’m not sure if this is an APNs issue or something specific to this device. I also noticed “Activate declarative management” pending in the device actions/status area.

This behavior usually indicates that the iPhone has not completed its check-in with the Hexnode portal after enrollment.

Since APNs is valid and another iOS device enrolled successfully recently, the next thing to check is network connectivity from the device side. Even if enrollment appears to complete, the device still needs to communicate with Apple MDM services and the Hexnode portal for actions such as Scan Device, app installation, and declarative management activation.

Try the following:

1. Disconnect the iPhone from the current Wi-Fi network.

2. Connect it to another network, such as mobile data or a mobile hotspot.

3. From Hexnode, initiate the Scan Device action again.

4. Wait for the device to check in and process pending commands.

If the scan starts progressing after switching networks, the original Wi-Fi network was likely blocking or delaying required MDM communication.
