If the Android device is online and communicating with Hexnode, you can disable kiosk mode remotely from the portal:
1. Go to Manage > Devices.
2. Select the Android device.
3. Click Actions > Kiosk > Disable Kiosk.
If the device is offline, the remote command will not reach the tablet. In that case, use the kiosk exit passcode that is already synced to the device.
For Single-App Kiosk mode:
1. Reboot the device.
2. When the device reaches the home screen, before the kiosk app auto-launches, tap anywhere on the screen the configured number of times in quick succession.
3. Enter the kiosk exit passcode when prompted.
For Multi-App Kiosk mode:
1. Tap anywhere on the kiosk home screen the configured number of times in quick succession.
2. Enter the kiosk exit passcode when prompted.
You can find the exit passcode in one of these locations:
– Global passcode: Admin > General Settings > Global Exit Settings.
– Policy-specific passcode: Policies > <kiosk policy> > Android Kiosk Lockdown > Kiosk Exit Settings.
If a passcode is configured inside the kiosk policy, it overrides the global passcode.
Do not change the exit passcode in the portal while the tablet is offline. The new passcode will not sync to the device until it reconnects, so you must use the passcode that was already present on the tablet.
