I’m managing Android devices where the Play Store should only show the apps we allow. The problem is that if a user adds a personal Google account, the Play Store opens up and they can download other apps.
Is there a way in Hexnode to stop users from adding their own account so the Play Store stays limited to approved apps?

You can prevent users from adding or modifying accounts on Android devices by disabling the account modification restriction through a Hexnode policy.
Configure it from:
Once applied, users will not be able to modify accounts on the device, which helps prevent them from adding a personal Google account to access unrestricted Play Store apps.

Can this be done as a device action instead of creating or editing a policy? I only need it for a few Android devices.

There is no separate remote action for this restriction. It has to be configured through a policy.
If you only need it for selected devices, create a dedicated Android restriction policy with Modify Accounts/users disabled and associate it only with those specific devices or a small device group. That will apply the restriction without affecting the rest of your Android fleet.
