Android kiosk policy not forcing app to stay open in Profile Owner modeSolved

I’m trying to lock an Android tablet to a single app using a Hexnode kiosk policy. The app is already installed and the policy association/action history shows Success, but the tablet is not launching the app or keeping it in the foreground.

I also checked the device Actions menu but don’t see any kiosk-related action there. Is there anything else that needs to be enabled for Android kiosk mode to work?

For Android kiosk mode, first verify that the Hexnode app has the required Android permissions to monitor and restore the kiosk app when it is minimized or closed.

On the device, check the following permissions:

1. Usage Access

– Go to Settings > Security/Privacy > Apps with usage access.

– Enable usage access for Hexnode.

2. Display over other apps

– Go to Settings > Apps > Special app access > Display over other apps.

– Allow Hexnode to display over other apps.

After enabling these permissions, try applying the kiosk policy again or check whether the kiosk-related action appears under the device Actions menu.

If the kiosk action is still unavailable, check the Android enrollment mode of the device. Kiosk mode support depends on the enrollment type.
