Hello @felixfrost ,
When an iOS device is wiped directly from the device, the old device record can remain active in Hexnode UEM until it is marked as disenrolled or removed. That old record may continue to consume a license, which can block re-enrollment even though the physical device has already been erased.
You do not need to remove or unlink the device from Apple Business for this scenario. The Apple Business assignment can remain as it is.
To free the license:
- Go to Manage > Devices in the Hexnode UEM portal.
- Open the old device entry for the wiped iPhone.
- Go to Actions.
- Choose Disenroll device.
- If the device has already been wiped and the action remains pending, use Mark as disenrolled instead.
Since the device is already wiped and cannot receive the MDM command, Mark as Disenrolled clears the old record state in Hexnode UEM and frees the license slot. After that, you can re-enroll the iPhone through Automated Device Enrollment again.
