For Android Enterprise devices, a webpage shortcut can be added to kiosk mode by creating a web app in Hexnode and including it in the Android kiosk policy.
To create the web app:
1. Go to Apps > Local Apps.
2. Click Add Apps and choose Web App.
3. Enter the web app name and the complete webpage URL.
4. Upload an icon if required.
5. Save the web app.
To add it to Android kiosk mode:
1. Go to Policies and open the Android kiosk policy.
2. Navigate to Kiosk Lockdown > Android Kiosk Lockdown.
3. Choose Multi App kiosk if multiple apps should be available.
4. Add the newly created web app to the kiosk app list.
5. Under the website/browser kiosk settings, select the browser that should open the web app.
6. Save the policy and associate it with the target Android devices or device groups.
The “administrator blocked this app” message usually means the web app is trying to open a URL or redirect that is not allowed by the kiosk policy. This is common with login pages, SSO, or authentication redirects. If the website redirects to a separate authentication domain during sign-in, that authentication domain must also be allowlisted in the kiosk policy.
