Android app installations blocked by Google Context-Aware Access after Hexnode enrollmentSolved

All our Android Enterprise devices enroll into Hexnode, but managed apps will not install in the work profile. The Play Store inside the work profile shows an authentication error, while the same Google account works normally in the personal profile.

Google Workspace sync looks fine, the devices appear approved in Google Admin, and the apps are not restricted to a specific OU. It feels like Context-Aware Access or device approval is blocking the managed profile before app installation can complete.

Has anyone seen this with Hexnode + Google Workspace Android Enterprise?

Hi @sammyy,

This behavior usually points to an issue in the Android Enterprise handoff between Hexnode and Google Workspace, or a Google access policy blocking authentication inside the managed profile.

Start by checking the Android Enterprise Organization ID in both places:

  1. In Hexnode, go to Admin > Android Enterprise and note the Organization ID.
  2. In the Google Admin Console, go to Devices > Mobile & endpoints > Settings > Setup > Third-party integrations > MDM providers > Android EMM.
  3. Confirm that the Android EMM provider selected in Google Admin uses the same Organization ID shown in Hexnode.

If the Organization IDs do not match, managed app installation can fail with an error similar to: “The application failed to install since the device setup has not been completed. Please try again after some time.”

After correcting the Organization ID in Google Admin Console, disenroll and re-enroll a test device, then try the app installation again.
