Google Chrome not installing in Android multi-app kioskSolved

For Google Chrome to be available to users in an Android multi-app kiosk, make sure it is added under the Multi-app kiosk section of the kiosk policy.

If Chrome has been added under Background apps, remove it from there first. Background apps are meant to run silently and are not presented as user-launchable kiosk apps. After removing Chrome from Background apps, search for Google Chrome again in the Multi-app kiosk app list. You can also search using the package identifier “com.android.chrome” if it does not appear immediately.

Once Chrome is added under Multi-app kiosk, save the policy and sync it to the device.

Okay got it. One more thing, after adding Google Messages, I’m seeing another green app named Messages on the kiosk device. The users only need Google Messages, so I’d like to remove or hide the extra one if possible.

It is part of Hexnode for Work and is used to display broadcast messages sent by the admin to users.

To hide it from the kiosk device, open the Android kiosk policy and go to Peripheral Settings. Disable the option named View messages sent by admin, then save and sync the policy. This should remove the Hexnode Messages app from the user-facing kiosk interface.
