Android Enterprise BYOD setup: remove old organization and confirm Profile Owner work profileSolved

I’m setting up Android Enterprise with Hexnode for BYOD devices. During the Google Workspace/third-party EMM setup, I initially saw prompts around configuration and token setup, but after waiting and retrying I was able to continue with Android Enterprise enrollment.

I now have an older Android Enterprise profile/organization in the portal that I don’t want to use anymore. Where do I remove the old Android Enterprise configuration? Also, for BYOD enrollment, does Profile Owner create a separate work profile alongside the user’s normal personal profile?

Hi @ryker,

For Android Enterprise BYOD deployments, Profile Owner is the correct enrollment mode. It creates a separate Work Profile on the device while leaving the user’s personal profile and personal data unmanaged.

To remove an old Android Enterprise organization from the Hexnode portal:

  1. Go to the Hexnode UEM portal, and open the Enroll tab.
  2. Navigate to Platform-Specific > Android > Android Enterprise.
  3. Under the old organization details, select Disenroll Organization and confirm the action.

Disenrolling an Android Enterprise organization will unmanage any active devices associated with that organization. Make sure any devices you are currently enrolling are tied to the new Android Enterprise configuration before removing the old one.
