I approved a few missing patches in Hexnode and can see them listed under missing patches for a device. What is supposed to happen next? Do the patches install automatically after approval, or do I need to create an automation or schedule something separately for Windows and macOS?

Hello @wilma ,

After approving missing patches, you need to deploy them to the affected devices either through patch automation or by scheduling a manual patch deployment.

A common approach is:

  1. Go to the Manage tab.
  2. Create a device group containing the devices that are missing the approved patches.
  3. Go to the Automate tab.
  4. Create a new automation for the required platform.
  5. Choose Auto Patch.
  6. Configure the automation based on patch severity, if needed.
  7. Assign the automation to the device group.

Alternatively, you can manually deploy the approved patches by selecting the missing patches, scheduling a deployment time, and assigning the device group. Once the schedule runs, Hexnode will push the approved patches to the devices in that group.

Okayy get it. I’ll create a device group for the affected devices and use auto-patch so future approved patches are handled automatically.
