Windows Hexnode Installer shows "Authentication failed" during enrollmentSolved

I’m trying to enroll a Windows machine using the Hexnode Installer. The installer asks for authentication, but when I enter the registered email address and password, it says “Authentication failed.” Is there a specific credential I should be using for Windows enrollment, or is there a setting that needs to be changed in the portal?

Hi @schyler-scott,

If you are enrolling the Windows device using the Hexnode Installer and do not want users to authenticate during enrollment, check the enrollment authentication setting in the Hexnode portal. Go to Enroll > Settings, and then set the authentication method to No Authentication.

This allows open enrollment through the installer without requiring the user to enter an email address and password during the enrollment flow. If authentication is enabled, the installer expects the credentials or enrollment method configured for that enrollment workflow. Entering a registered email address and password may fail if it does not match the configured authentication mode.
