Hello,
Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.
Currently, Hexnode does not provide a native policy option to configure or enforce the language of the default Android device keyboard, including the native Samsung keyboard. If your devices are using the built-in keyboard, the language must be changed manually from the device-side keyboard settings (provided your kiosk policy allows users to access those settings).
If you require centralized, remote control over the keyboard language, the recommended alternative is to utilize a third-party keyboard application that supports Managed App Configurations.
Here is how you can approach this workaround:
- Identify a third-party enterprise keyboard app from the Managed Google Play Store that explicitly supports remote configuration of language settings.
- Approve and add the keyboard app to your Hexnode repository via Apps > Add Apps > Store Apps.
- Navigate to Policies > App Management > App Configurations to push the specific language configuration to the keyboard.
- Deploy the app and its configuration to your kiosk devices, ensuring it is set as the default input method within your kiosk policy.
This approach relies entirely on the app developer exposing the language settings through managed configurations, but it is the most practical option if you need centralized control over the input language.
I hope this helps. If you find any more issues or need further assistance feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
George,
