Can I allow users to access Android Settings in Multi-App Kiosk modeSolved

I’m managing Android Enterprise devices that are locked in Multi-App Kiosk mode. Users need a way to access device settings from the kiosk home screen. Is it possible to modify the existing Hexnode policy so the Settings app is available while the device stays in kiosk mode?

Hello @itsme_aoi ,

Yes. In Multi-App Kiosk mode, you can add the native Android Settings app to the kiosk home screen through the applied policy.

Steps:

  1. Go to Policies in the Hexnode portal.
  2. Open the policy associated with the Android kiosk devices.
  3. Click Manage and select Modify.
  4. Navigate to Kiosk Lockdown > Android Kiosk Lockdown > Multi-App.
  5. Click the + icon to add an app.
  6. Search for the native Settings app, select it, and click Done.
  7. Save the policy.

After the policy syncs with the devices, the Settings icon should appear on the kiosk home screen.

Adding the full Android Settings app gives users access to all available system settings on the device. If users only need access to specific options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or Airplane mode, it is safer to configure restricted access from Android Kiosk Lockdown > Peripheral Settings instead.
