Deploying PaperCut printing profiles to managed iOS devicesSolved

Hi everyone. I am trying to configure our managed iOS devices so users can print via our PaperCut servers. I was digging through the Hexnode iOS policy options trying to find a UI profile or printing profile setting, but I cannot seem to find anything with those names.

How can I enable or push this PaperCut printing profile to our iPhones and iPads through Hexnode? Is this something users have to manually install on the device side, or can we automate it?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.

Hexnode does not have a native iOS policy toggle specifically labeled as a UI Profile or Printing Profile. Instead, the standard approach is to deploy the PaperCut configuration silently over-the-air using a custom configuration profile. This means your end-users do not have to manually install or enable anything on the device side; the UEM handles the entire setup.

Here is the workflow to deploy it:

  1. Generate or download the PaperCut .mobileconfig file directly from your PaperCut admin console.
  2. In your Hexnode portal, navigate to Policies and either create a new policy or edit an existing one.
  3. Go to iOS > Configurations > Deploy Custom Configuration.
  4. Click Configure and upload your .mobileconfig file.
  5. Save the policy and associate it with your target iOS devices or device groups.

Once the policy is applied, the PaperCut printing configuration will be applied automatically to the targeted iOS devices, and users will be able to print seamlessly.

I hope this helps. If you find any more issues or need further assistance feel free to reach out.

Best regards,
George,
