Google Play Store and Camera not showing in Android multi-app kioskSolved

I’m setting up an Android multi-app kiosk policy for a Motorola G 2024 device. I was able to add a custom APK as a required app, but I ran into two kiosk-related issues after that: First one is, the stock camera app was not available inside the kiosk. Second one is, I could not get the Google Play Store to appear in the kiosk apps list.

For the camera, I saw several camera-related apps and wasn’t sure which one to add for this Motorola model. For Play Store, it looked like it was already present somewhere in the policy, but it still wasn’t visible on the device.

Hello @tomas ,

For Android multi-app kiosk, an app must be added under the Multi-App Kiosk section if you want its icon to be visible and launchable by the user.

For the Motorola G 2024 camera, check the device’s installed applications list and add the Motorola Camera app to the multi-app kiosk policy. The package name is commonly shown as “com.motorola.camera3” for Motorola Camera on supported Motorola devices.

After adding it:

  1. Go to Policies tab.
  2. Edit the Android kiosk policy.
  3. Navigate to Kiosk Lockdown > Multi-App.
  4. Add Motorola Camera.
  5. Save and associate the policy.
  6. Sync the device or wait for the policy to apply.

If the camera still does not launch, check whether there is another Motorola camera-related component installed on the device and add that app to the kiosk policy as well. Some stock camera apps rely on an additional camera component being available in kiosk.

For the Google Play Store issue, check whether Play Store has been added under Background Apps in the kiosk policy.

Apps added as background apps are allowed to run in the background, but they do not appear as launchable icons in the kiosk launcher. If Google Play Store is listed there, remove it from Background Apps and add it to Multi-App Kiosk instead.

Use the package name: “com.android.vending

Steps:

  1. Open the Android kiosk policy.
  2. Go to Kiosk Lockdown > Background Apps.
  3. Remove Google Play Store / “com.android.vending” if it is listed there.
  4. Go to Multi-App Kiosk.
  5. Search for “com.android.vending”.
  6. Add it to the kiosk apps list.
  7. Save and publish the policy.
  8. Sync the device.

Once the updated policy is associated with the device, the Play Store should be visible inside the multi-app kiosk.
