hexnode browser lite allowlist rejects wildcard url without http:// or https://Solved

I’m setting up Hexnode Browser Lite and trying to allowlist a group of websites using a wildcard. When I enter the URL pattern without a protocol, like *, the allowlist field rejects it.

Does Hexnode Browser Lite support wildcard URLs in the website allowlist, or do the entries need to be added one by one?

Hi Alex. Yes, Hexnode Browser Lite fully supports wildcard entries in the website allowlist!

If your wildcard URL is being rejected, it is because the entry is missing its required protocol prefix. The allowlist URL must always begin with either http:// or https:// .

For example, instead of entering: *< domain >

You should use a format such as: https:// *< domain > (or http:// *< domain > if the site does not use SSL, though HTTPS is highly recommended)

Once the correct protocol is included, the wildcard allowlist entry will be accepted and the sites will open correctly in the browser.
