How to include detailed Device Info in Application Report exports?Solved

Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying to run some audits on application usage across our fleet. When I export the Application Reports, the CSV only seems to show “Device Numbers” (counts) rather than specific details like the Device Name, Serial Number, OS version, or the User assigned to it.

Is there a way to include these actual device details in the export? It’s hard to track down which specific devices need an update if I only have a total count!

This is a common question. By default, the high-level application report focuses on the “count” of installations, but you can definitely pull the granular data you’re looking for.

To get the list with Device Name, User, OS, OS version, and Serial Number, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Reports tab and select Application Reports.

  1. Choose the specific report you need (e.g., Installed Apps).

  1. Click on the Export button in the top right.

  1. Instead of a standard export, make sure to select the Device List option from the dropdown menu.

Selecting Device List tells the system to generate a row for every single device the app is installed on, including all the identifying metadata you mentioned, rather than just a summary of totals.

Aha! I didn’t realize that “Device List” changed the actual columns provided in the export—I thought it just filtered the view.

I just tried it and it gave me the Serial Numbers and OS versions exactly how I needed them. Thanks for the help!
