We just discovered a phishing campaign hitting our team. There’s a malicious file attached to an email with a “hidden” hyperlink that triggers a script. I need to get a message out to everyone, both Mac and Windows users telling them not to open it. What is the fastest way to push a non-ignorable alert through the UEM?

Hi @margaret,

To deliver the alert to the users, you can use the Broadcast Message action on Hexnode UEM. It’s much faster than email because it pops up directly on the desktop.

  1. Go to the Manage tab in your portal.
  2. Select all devices (or filter by Mac and Windows).
  3. Click Actions > Others > Broadcast Message.
  4. Type a clear warning. Example: “SECURITY ALERT: Do not click links in the ‘Invoice’ email. Delete immediately.

For more information, check out this documentation on Broadcast Message action.

The Broadcast Message worked perfectly, I’m seeing users confirm receipt already.

Follow-up question: is there a way to embed the ‘Next Steps’ into the Broadcast Message? Like a button that says “I have already clicked” which then alerts us immediately?

Hi @margaret,

Currently, the Broadcast Message is a text-based alert. However, a great workaround is to include a URL in the message. You can link it to a simple internal Microsoft/Google Form. If a user clicks the link in your broadcast to report themselves, you can set an automation in the form to email your “Incident Response” team immediately with the user’s name.
