What does the “Update eSIM” remote action do?Solved

Hey all, 

I was going through the remote actions list and noticed something called Update eSIMHaven’t really used it before. What does it actually do?

Oh yeahwe’ve used that a bit. It’s for managing eSIM profiles remotely. Like, if you need to activate a new plan or refresh an existing one, this action helps trigger that from the portal itself. The device reaches out to the carrier’s server and pulls the updated eSIM profile over the air. 

In our case, we use it for field devices. Whenever a data plan expires or needs to be switched to a different carrier plan, we just trigger this action instead of asking the user to do anything manually. We had to get an SM-DP+ server URL from our provider for it to work, so that part is important.

We’ve only tried it on iPhones so far, so not really sure beyond that.
