We are excited to announce a powerful enhancement to our Microsoft Entra integration. You now have ultimate control over exactly which users are imported into your Hexnode portal thanks to our new advanced filtering capabilities!
Previously, syncing targets were limited to broad categories like “All users & groups”, “All users”, “All groups”, or manually selecting “Specific groups”. While functional, we knew you needed more granular control for large enterprise environments.
What is new: You can now build dynamic, highly specific filters to pinpoint the exact users you want to sync from Microsoft Entra.
- Granular Attribute Filtering: Create rules based on over 20 specific user attributes, including Department, Job title, Office location, User Principal Number, Account status, and more.
- Nested Logic: Build complex sync criteria by nesting your rules and utilizing AND / OR operators.
Why this matters: This update eliminates directory clutter and ensures you are only syncing the identities you actually need to manage. For example, you can now easily build a query to sync only active users in the “Engineering” department located in “London” OR “New York”.
Where to find it:
- For new setups: This option is available directly within the Microsoft Entra integration workflow as you set it up.
- For existing setups: If you have already configured your integration, navigate to Admin > Microsoft Entra, choose your configured domain, click Next, and you will be able to set your new filters right there.
