While creating a user account, we provide a password. Can the user change the password to that of their choice when they login for the first time?

In Windows I can see the option “User must change password at next login” but not in Mac. How does it work in mac?

I think macOS doesn’t support that option at all. Once you set up a password, the user just keeps using it unless they manually change it later.

Hello everyone, thanks for raising this.

On Windows, the option “User must change password at next login” is available during account creation. If enabled, the user will be forced to reset their password at the next login, and the new password must comply with any password policy applied to the device.

On macOS, this option isn’t available in the local account creation flow. Instead, you can achieve the same outcome by applying a Password policy. Within the policy settings, enable “Change password at next login”. The user will then be prompted to set a new password at their next login, and it must meet the requirements defined in the policy.
