We are excited to announce a major enhancement for IT administrators managing Apple fleets. The introduction of the macOS Remote Access policy is designed to streamline remote troubleshooting and eliminate authorization hurdles when supporting your macOS users.

Here is a breakdown of the new capabilities you can now push to your devices:

  • Enable unattended remote access: Do you need to troubleshoot a Mac while the user is away? You can now allow administrators to remotely access the device, including the login screen.
  • Allow standard users to grant permissions: This setting eliminates the need for local admin credentials when setting up a remote session. When enabled:
    • Accessibility permissions are automatically granted by the policy in the background.
    • Screen recording permissions can be manually approved by the standard user using their own credentials.

Where to configure it: To start utilizing these new controls, log in to your Hexnode UEM portal and navigate to Policies > New Policy > Create a fully custom policy > macOS > Troubleshooting > Remote Access.
