Hi folks, I accidentally enrolled a device with the wrong user. Can this be corrected, or do I need to delete and re‑enroll the device?

I think this might be possible through the remote actions available for the device.

Hello everyone, thanks for reaching out.

You don’t need to delete and re‑enroll. The device owner can be updated directly from the portal:

  1. Navigate to Manage → Devices and select the device.
  2. Click Actions → Edit → Change owner.
  3. From the Select Domain dropdown, choose the appropriate domain, then select the correct user from the Select User dropdown.
  4. Click Assign.

When a device owner is changed, the restrictions, configurations, and required apps associated with the previous user will be removed, and those linked to the new user will be applied automatically. You also have the option to delete the old user’s location history during reassignment.

This ensures the device is reassigned cleanly without requiring a re-enrollment. Please try this and let us know if you have any issues.
