Hi everyone, I’m running a scanner app on my Android devices in kiosk mode, but the camera won’t open. The app keeps saying access denied. Has anyone else faced this?

Try adding the Camera app to your kiosk policy. That usually helps when the scanner needs a camera to access.

Hello everyone, Thanks for reaching out.

The issue you’re facing with camera access in kiosk mode may be due to certain camera‑related packages being blocked on the device. To verify this, navigate to Manage → Devices. Select the required device. Navigate to Applications → Blocked Packages. If any camera packages are listed there, try adding them directly as Background Apps in your kiosk policy under Kiosk Lockdown → Android Kiosk Lockdown → Background Apps

If the blocked package does not appear in the Background Apps list, you will need to add it to your inventory first:

  1. Go to Apps → +Add App → With Bundle ID.
  2. Provide a name for identification.
  3. Enter the blocked package identifier noted from the Blocked Packages sub‑tab in the Bundle ID field.
  4. Select a category and click Add.

Once created, return to your kiosk policy and add the app under Background Apps

After updating and associating the policy with the device, the scanner app should be able to access the camera successfully in kiosk mode.

It worked! Camera app package was blocked before.

Thanks, @simon_scott .
