Is it feasible to use Hexnode XDR with a different MDM, or will I lose anything?Solved

Hi everyone,

We are currently looking into adding Hexnode XDR to our security stack. However, we are in the middle of a contract with another MDM provider right now.

My main question is: Can I avail Hexnode XDR while using another MDM? If we do this, will the capabilities of the XDR be limited in any way?

Also, if this is supported, how do we actually go about deploying the agent to our devices?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to Hexnode Connect!

To answer your first question directly: Yes, absolutely! You can definitely use Hexnode XDR alongside your current MDM.

The good news is that your core XDR capabilities won’t be limited at all. Hexnode XDR is built to be a robust, standalone security solution. The only specific advantage to pairing it with Hexnode UEM is that you get slightly more seamless integration and communication between the two out of the box. But as far as threat detection and response go, you’ll be getting the full XDR experience regardless of which MDM you are using.

As for deployment, you can simply use your current MDM solution to push the Hexnode XDR agent to your endpoints. We’ve put together step-by-step guides for most of the major platforms to make this as easy as possible.

Here are the deployment guides based on your preferred MDM:

If you end up needing to install it on a few machines without the MDM (or just want to test it out first), we also have a guide for that right here:

Take a look at those guides, and let us know if you run into any hiccups or have any follow-up questions. We’re always happy to help!
