Hi team, I have an app deployed as a web app on my Android device. When I open it in kiosk mode, which browser will be used to access it?

Hello @laura123

When you deploy a web app in kiosk mode, the browser used will depend on the configuration in your Website Kiosk Settings policy. Hexnode UEM provides three options you can choose from:

  • Hexnode Browser Lite: A single‑tabbed browser designed for kiosk use. It opens the web apps added in single‑app or multi‑app kiosk mode. External URLs can also be opened, provided they are whitelisted.
  • Hexnode Browser: A secure browser that restricts access to only the websites permitted by the organization. It supports both single‑tab and multi‑tab browsing.
  • Another Browser: If you prefer to use a third‑party browser, you can select this option. The browser must be installed on the device. On Samsung Knox devices (SDK 2.6+), only websites whitelisted via the Web Content Filtering policy will be accessible. On other devices, any website can be opened if “Another Browser” is enabled.

Select the browser option that best fits your requirement and associate the policy with your device.

For even more detailed guidance, refer to our guide on the Website Kiosk Settings policy.
