Hey, is it possible to automate the local admin account password rotation remote action in Hexnode? I just did the action on one of my Windows PCs because an employee accidentally accessed the admin account, and don’t want this to happen again.

I think there is an automation specifically for this under Windows. I’m not sure how to configure it, though.

Hello @roosevelt , the Rotate Local Admin Password action can be automated by using an Automation. To configure this automation, follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the Automate tab and click on New automation.
  2. Click on New Automation within the New Automation pop-up screen and select the platform as Windows.
  3. Under Security, add the Rotate Local Admin Password action to the automation actions and name the Automation profile (change it from Untitled to your desired name).
  4. Configure the Settings and Schedule section. Select the Trigger and the Initiate frequency.
  5. Add the required device groups (your device must be in a device group) under Target filters > Included groups.
  6. Review your automation and click Save.

The configured automation will be applied to the device, and the local admin password will then be rotated according to your initiate frequency.
