Hi team,

Quick question, can Hexnode actually manage IoT devices? We’re looking at rolling out some smart endpoints and I want to know if they can be brought under management like our regular laptops and mobiles.

I’ve wondered the same thing. From what I’ve seen, Hexnode does cover some IoT endpoints, but it’s not as broad as full-blown mobile or desktop management. I’ve used it with kiosks and a couple of smart TVs.

Yeah, I’ve tested it with barcode scanners in our warehouse. It worked fine for pushing apps and policies, but I wouldn’t call it “extensive” IoT management. It’s more like extending MDM features to certain IoT devices.

Thanks for your valuable input, everyone.

Currently, our IoT device management features are foundational, supporting a focused set of capabilities across kiosks, tablets, smart TVs, barcode scanners, and RFID readers. This provides centralized, remote management while laying the groundwork for broader expansion.

We facilitate IoT adoption by securing and monitoring devices, enforcing policies, deploying apps, and enabling remote troubleshooting. So, while it’s not a full-scale IoT platform, it does cover the essentials for organizations looking to bring these devices under unified management.

That’s good to know. I was thinking IoT meant stuff like sensors and industrial controllers, but if it covers smart TVs and scanners, that’s already useful.

I think of it as “extended endpoint management” rather than hardcore IoT. Still, having kiosks and RFID readers under the same umbrella as mobile devices makes life easier.
