I recently deployed the SentinelOne app to macOS devices. The installation works fine, but after that, users see multiple notification prompts from different SentinelOne components such as: “SentinelOne Extensions” added items that can run in the background….”. Is there a way to suppress these notifications so the installation feels completely silent for the end user?
How to avoid multiple notifications when deploying SentionelOne on macOS?Solved

Sure @jennifer ! You can prevent these notifications using Hexnode’s App Notification policy:
- Go to Policies > macOS > App Management > App Notification.
- Click Specify Bundle Id.
- Enter:
- App Name: Background Item
- Bundle ID: com.apple.btmnotificationagent
- Click Next and disable the “Enable Notification” option.
This will stop these notifications from appearing during all app installations, giving users a seamless experience.

Why does this disable notifications for all apps? Can’t we just turn it off for SentinelOne?

These notifications aren’t generated by SentinelOne itself. They are macOS system alerts that appear whenever any app adds items to Background Items. That’s why targeting only SentinelOne won’t work. Disabling notifications for com.apple.btmnotificationagent is the only way to reliably suppress them.
