Wallpaper reverting on Mac even after removing policySolved

Hi all,

We’re seeing an issue with a wallpaper policy on a MacBook Pro (MacBookPro18,3).

Even after removing the wallpaper policy from the device, the wallpaper keeps reverting back whenever the user signs in or restarts the Mac. The policy doesn’t appear to be assigned anymore, but the wallpaper is still being enforced.

Has anyone run into this before or know how to fix it? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @jennifer !

Thanks for reaching out.

In some cases, macOS may retain configuration artifacts even after a policy is removed. To rule this out, please try the following:

  • Reapply the same wallpaper policy to the affected Mac from Hexnode UEM.
  • Once the policy is successfully applied, remove the wallpaper policy again.
  • Restart the Mac and check if the wallpaper persists.

Please let us know if the issue continues after trying the above steps so we can investigate further.

Best Regards,
Isabel Lora
