WiFi connectivity issues on iOSSolved

Hi people,

I keep running into this issue and I’m not really sure what’s causing it. There are no Wi-Fi policies set on the device.

Sometimes the Wi-Fi just disconnects on its own, and when I check, there are no SSIDs showing at all. It looks like Wi-Fi is on, but nothing appears.

The only way I have been able to get it working again is by connecting a LAN cable to the iPad using an adapter. After a bit, the wired connection shows up and then the Wi-Fi option comes back.

Does anyone know why this happens or what I should do to fix it?

I have seen the same thing happen on a few iPads, even when there aren’t any Wi-Fi profiles or restrictions in place.

It seems like iOS sometimes doesn’t properly restart the Wi-Fi interface after a disconnect or sleep. When that happens, the device stops scanning for networks, which is why no SSIDs appear.

Hi @amelia, thank you for reaching out.

Based on the description, the issue does not appear to be related to Hexnode, as there are no Wi-Fi policies configured on the device.

This behavior seems to be an iOS-level networking issue, where the operating system intermittently fails to detect available SSIDs and unexpectedly disconnects from Wi-Fi.

To resolve the issue, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Update the device OS
Ensure the iPad is running the latest available iOS version, as Apple frequently includes fixes for known network stability issues.
  2. Reset Network Settings
Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPad → Reset → Reset Network Settings on your iOS device.
This clears cached network configurations and resets the interface between iOS and the Wi-Fi hardware, which often resolves detection issues.

If the problem persists even after these steps, it may be worth contacting Apple Support, as this would indicate a deeper OS or hardware-level issue.
