Hey everyone, quick question – what really are these wearables? I hear this word getting thrown around a lot but haven’t really understood what they meant.

@ace_98 , wearables are basically technology you can “wear”: smart watches, AR glasses, fitness trackers, cameras, smart headphones, you name it. They are currently “the ‘it’ thing” – I am sure you do own a smart watch at the least.
@stevenhere , Oh yes, I do actually. It’s just that I thought smart watches were just about them. I didn’t know there was a whole bunch of wearable technology. Do you know more about those?
@ace_98 , as I mentioned earlier, there are a bunch of examples from day-to-day life like smart watches and AR glasses, which I think are the most popular among wearables. And their capabilities are also increasing – your smart watch can basically be a more portable substitute for your smart phone at this point; it can send and receive messages, you can make calls, browse the internet, and the possibilities are endless. Apple watches, Samsung Galaxy watches, etc. are just a few of the best ones.
@ace_98 and @stevenhere , wearable technology has grown so much in the past few years. There is even smart clothing: sensors attached to your clothes that monitor heart rate, body temperature, and motion; it’s actually cool. An example is the Neviano UV Protect swimsuit, which comes with a removable sensor that alerts the user to apply more sunscreen, if the UV levels are too high.
@leo_scott and @ace_98 , Speaking of UV sensors, fitness trackers help monitor your physical activity and vital signs. Those Fitbit ones monitor your heart rate, Blood Pressure etc, all during any physical activity.
@ace_98 , then there are cameras and eye wear that can capture what you see in a personal POV style. They also offer the features of hands-free calling even. Amazon Echo frames are popular smart glasses
@ace_98 , Samsung Galaxy buds and Apple AirPods are those smart headphones called “hearables”. They are also common, I guess.
AR/VR glasses are the coolest of them all. They can basically show you a different reality in front of you. AR/VR gaming is a whole another experience, where you feel like you are actually inside the game.Meta Quest, Sony PlayStation VR and Apple Vision are cool options for AR/VR gaming.
@stevenhere and @leo_scott , woah, there are a lot of options to explore wearables, and it is cool to know that I own a bunch of them too. Thanks guys!
