Hi everyone, I’m trying to wipe an Android device from the Hexnode portal, but I can’t find the Wipe Device option. Could someone help me understand why this option is missing?

Hello @roosevelt,

To help you better, could you please confirm the Android version, and the enrollment method used to enroll this device?

The device is running Android 15 and was enrolled using Generic Android enrollment.

Thank you for the details.
This behavior is expected. For devices running Android 14 and later, the Wipe Device action is no longer supported when the device is enrolled using Generic Android enrollment. As a result, the wipe option will not appear in the Manage tab for such devices.

That’s unfortunate. Is there any workaround or alternative way to wipe the device remotely?

Yes, there are supported alternatives. For Android 14.0+ devices, remote wipe is possible only under the following conditions:

  • The device is enrolled using Android Enterprise (Device Owner–based enrollment), or
  • The Hexnode UEM app is granted Device Owner permission.

If neither of these applies, the device will need to be manually wiped from the device itself.
