Hey everyone, there was an issue with scanning barcodes using the Urovo mobiles used in one of our manufacturing facilities last day and it seems like it was due to the recent Android software update that occurred. I want to stop the automatic software update from happening to the devices in the rest of our facilities. Any way of doing that using Hexnode?
Can I block automatic software updates on Android?Solved

Hello @amy_taylor , you can utilize the OS Updates feature to delay OS updates on Android devices for up to 30 days. Within the OS Updates feature (Policies > Android > Security), select the Postpone update option from the System update settings drop-down. The automatic software update will be deferred for up to 30 days once this policy is applied. Please note that this feature is supported only on Android devices enrolled in the Android Enterprise program as ‘Device Owner’.

Thanks @elle_reed , but on a side note, is there any way to delay app updates from the Google Play Store, like the OS updates delay?
@amy_taylor , there is a way to prevent app installs and automatic updates using Hexnode. Configure the Advanced Restrictions in your Android policy. Under Allow App Settings, disable Install apps by unchecking the checkbox. Once this restriction is applied, new apps or automatic app updates (applied from the Google Play Store) will not be installed.
@elle_reed , but then no other apps can be added to the device from the Google Play Store, right?
@amy_taylor , Any app from the Google Play Store can be added to Android devices using the Install application remote action from the Hexnode UEM portal. Navigate to the Apps tab and click on +Add Apps under Local Apps. Select Store App and search for the app you want to install, after selecting Android as the platform. Once you locate the app you need from the search results, click Add next to it to add the app to the Hexnode App Repository.
Navigate to the Manage tab and select the devices in which you need to install apps from the Google Play Store and click on Install Application under Actions > Applications. Search for your apps under Local Apps and click Install to install those apps to your device.
Then I needn’t worry about not being able to install new apps after I configure Advanced Restrictions! Anyways, I could successfully stop OS Updates from the rest of my Urovo devices – that should do until the issue with the update is resolved from Urovo’s end. I will be sure to stop the automatic app updates too, for future use. Thanks, @elle_reed !
