Hi,

How can we obtain a unique ID from Hexnode for our system validation? Also, are the UDID and Android device ID the same?

Hi @verbnigge,

You can retrieve the unique ID directly from your Hexnode UEM portal. To view the UDID:

  1. Log in to your Hexnode UEM portal.
  2. Navigate to the Manage tab.
  3. Select the device you want to review.
  4. Open the Device Info section.
  5. The device’s UDID will be listed under this section.

Regarding your second question – UDID and Android device ID are not the same.

A UDID (Unique Device Identifier) is a 24-character alphanumeric value natively generated by Apple and acts as the permanent, unique fingerprint of an iOS/macOS device. Hexnode uses this value for precise device identification, tracking, and targeted app or configuration deployment.

The Android device ID, on the other hand, is a 64-bit identifier (up to 16 characters) created during the device’s enrollment. Hexnode uses this ID to uniquely reference and manage Android devices. Unlike Apple’s UDID, the Android device ID may reset if the device undergoes a factory reset.

I hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you have further queries.
