Hey everyone, one of my colleagues WhatsApp was blocked out from access because he was unable to update it on time. The app was deployed as a VPP app from Hexnode in our organization.  Can someone help me find a solution to this problem? WhatsApp is an integral part of my colleague’s work as he works in Sales.

Hey @sarahmiller , a VPP app (in your case, WhatsApp) can be updated remotely via Hexnode UEM. Go to Manage, select the target device, click on Actions and select the Install Application remote action under Applications. From the listed Local Store apps, make sure that VPP apps are checked so that WhatsApp will be displayed when searched for. Select WhatsApp from the search results and click on Install to begin installation. The latest version of WhatsApp will be installed on the target device.

Thank you @elle_reed . I was able to update WhatsApp from the Hexnode portal and now it works for him! I was also thinking of automating WhatsApp updates in the future so that something like this does not happen again. Is it possible to do thatmaybe through the Required Apps policy?

Yes @sarahmiller , the Required Apps policy can automate updates as it mandates that the latest version of the added apps be installed on the iOS device to maintain compliance.

Thanks again,  @elle_reed ! Now that I have found a comprehensive solution, I think I will deploy the Required Apps policy for WhatsApp to all iOS devices in my organization.
