Hey, I’m looking to roll out full disk encryption on some Windows devices. I know BitLocker is the native one and works with Hexnode, but I have seen people talking about other third-party encryption tools. Are they worth considering over BitLocker?
Would love to hear your thoughts before I lock anything in.

Honestly? Stick with BitLocker. It’s way safer, especially if you have Secure Boot on. Secure Boot basically makes sure your PC hasn’t been messed with before it even starts up. On the other hand, third-party tools don’t really work well with this.
Yeah, I’m with @finn on this one.
BitLocker’s what we always use. If your devices are domain-joined, you can even store recovery keys in Active Directory, which makes managing them way easier.
Also, just so you know, BitLocker uses TPM, which most third-party encryption tools don’t support. That adds an extra layer of security.
I see. Also, is it even possible to track encryption status or determine device compliance in Hexnode if we use third-party encryption instead of BitLocker?
Not that I’m aware of. Hexnode doesn’t support tracking third-party encryption tools right now.
Alright, I was leaning towards BitLocker anyway because of the integration and now this boot-level protection stuff.
