Hey everyone!
I’m running into an issue with some new devices running iOS 26. After doing a fresh wipe and enrolling them, the pre-installed system apps don’t install as smoothly as expected. Instead, the device keeps throwing “Convert to managed app” prompts for lots of pre-installed iOS apps, like over 40 prompts in one instance! I had to manually cancel each one for the process to keep going. Anyone else seeing this? Or have any ideas on what’s going on?

Is this happening just on new devices, or have you seen it on updated devices too? Curious if the issue only appears on new enrollments, or if it’s a broader iOS 26 problem.
It’s only happening on new enrollments. If we update an already enrolled device (like one on iOS 18.6.2) to iOS 26, there’s no issue at all. Everything works fine. So, it seems to be something with the initial enrollment on iOS 26 specifically.
I’m seeing the same thing with ‘Convert to managed app’ prompts. Since purchasing VPP licenses for these system apps isn’t possible, the device keeps asking for an Apple ID to finish installing, which is causing delays.
Did some digging and it looks like this is a known behavior with the latest iOS 26 release. Apparently, Apple made a change that’s affecting supervised devices, it is automatically triggering managed app actions, even for system apps. That seems to be what’s causing the flood of “Convert to managed app” prompts during enrollment.
On a different note, after updating to iOS 26, some apps don’t open or crash shortly after launching. It seems like many apps aren’t fully updated, causing these issues.
That’s really annoying. I hope Apple fixes it soon!
