WhatsApp update shows on device but Hexnode says no update availableSolved

A managed device is showing that for WhatsApp app a new update is required, but when I try to update it from the Hexnode portal, it says no update is available. Because of this, the user cannot open WhatsApp at all. Has anyone seen this mismatch between the device app prompt and Hexnode app update status?

Hello @leo_scott ,

This can happen when the app version available to a device differs based on the device OS version, hardware specifications, or app store rollout behavior. The latest WhatsApp version may not become available to every endpoint at the same time, so Hexnode UEM may report that no newer update is available even when the app displays an update prompt.

For the affected device, manually push WhatsApp again:

  1. Go to Actions > Applications > Install application.
  2. Select WhatsApp.
  3. Initiate the installation on the affected device.

This should reinstall or update the app to the latest version compatible with that endpoint and usually clears the update-required state.

Regards,
Simon Scott
