Can’t figure out why my volume button is blocked partially in kiosk. Partially as in I am only able to adjust media volume. I am not able to bring up that menu where we adjust media, call, alarm volumes because the volume bar only appears for a moment.

P.S. works properly outside kiosk. I haven’t disabled volume button in kiosk

Hello Aria,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Please check if your device is in lock task mode. Lock task mode is used to give an immersive kiosk experience to the users. Therefore, the end-users will only be able to access minimal system UI. This might be the reason why you are only able to control the media volume. Disable the lock task mode in the policy associated with the device, and you will be able to use the volume button on the device to control the volume of all sounds (media, call, alarm and ring).

Cheers!!

Lock task mode seems necessary. Any alternative way to control the ring volume while maintaining the device in this mode?

You can set the ring volume through Hexnode. Select the option Disable volume button under Peripheral settings. The end-users will no longer be able to control the volume of the device.  You can then set the Ring Volume Level and Music Volume Level in the Hexnode portal.

Cheers!!

We don’t have lock task mode but still volume control disappears after a moment. We want users to manage the volume locally.
