Temporarily disable an inactive device to avoid non-compliance in HexnodeSolved

Hexnode does not currently provide a temporary device disable or temporary archive option for planned inactivity.

If a device remains offline or inactive beyond the configured compliance threshold, it may be marked as non-compliant. Changing the inactivity-based compliance setting is not recommended for a single device because the change would affect other devices using the same compliance configuration.

For a device that will be used again, the recommended approach is to leave it as-is under the Manage tab. When the device is back online and reconnects to the Hexnode server, it will sync automatically and the compliance status will update based on the latest device state.

So if the device is only sitting unused for a while, we should not delete or unenroll it? Just let it show as non-compliant until it comes back online?

Correct. If the device is expected to return to active use, do not delete or unenroll it just to handle temporary inactivity. Leaving it managed preserves the device record and allows it to resume syncing when it reconnects.

The non-compliant state during inactivity is expected behavior when the compliance rule depends on device check-in or last contact time. Once the device checks in again, Hexnode reevaluates the device and updates the compliance status accordingly.
