Lower-right screen touch stops responding on Android Enterprise kiosk devicesSolved

We have Android Enterprise devices locked in Hexnode kiosk mode. On 3 out of 12 devices, the lower-right part of the screen stopped responding, so users could not use the keyboard properly or enter PIN codes. I also could not exit kiosk mode from the device when this happened.

Restarting the affected devices fixed it, and the issue has not reappeared yet on the restarted devices. I noticed a setting for disabling the power button under kiosk peripheral settings. Should that be enabled to prevent this, or could it be causing the problem?

Hi @verbnigge,

There is no need to Disable power button to address this touch issue.

Recommended approach:

  1. Keep the power button restriction disabled unless it is required for your kiosk use case.
  2. Restart any device where the lower-right touch area, keyboard, or PIN entry stops responding.
  3. Track whether the issue returns on the same devices.
  4. Compare the affected devices against working ones for Android version, firmware build, device model, and kiosk configuration.

If it becomes repeatable after restart, the next step would be deeper device-side troubleshooting to determine whether Android System UI, firmware, or the kiosk app is involved.
