iPhone supervised enrollment fails with Hexnode enrollment settings have been changed errorSolved

Hi everyone. I am currently provisioning a new batch of corporate iPhones using Apple Configurator to ensure they are fully supervised. However, right in the middle of the enrollment process, the devices are failing and throwing an error on the screen that reads: Hexnode enrollment settings have been changed please contact your administrator.

I have not touched our Apple Configurator blueprints recently, so I am not sure what is causing this sudden roadblock. Has anyone run into this specific error before?

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to Hexnode Connect.

This specific error appears when there is a mismatch between the current global enrollment configuration in your Hexnode portal and the enrollment method being attempted by Apple Configurator. It most commonly occurs if another administrator recently modified the portal’s enrollment settings, causing the profile on the device to no longer align with the server’s expectations.

To resolve this and allow Apple Configurator to process supervised enrollments correctly, please verify your portal settings:

  1. Navigate to Admin > Enrollment.
  2. Ensure the enrollment type is explicitly set to Profile driven.
  3. Scroll down and set the Re-enrollment option to Enroll as a new device.
  4. Save the changes.

Once these settings are corrected, retry the enrollment process from Apple Configurator. The workflow will pull the newly aligned configuration and the devices should successfully complete their supervised enrollment without throwing the mismatch error.

I hope this helps. If you find any more issues or need further assistance feel free to reach out.

Best regards,
George,
