How to enroll an Android device in Hexnode using email and IDP authenticationSolved

Hi everyone. I’m testing Android enrollment in Hexnode and want to verify that our Identity Provider (IDP) authentication works smoothly during the process. I have a test Android phone and prefer to enroll it via an email invite.

What are the exact steps to send the enrollment email and properly complete the IDP sign-in on the device?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Hexnode Connect!

To test Android enrollment with IDP authentication via email, you should use the Android Standard Device enrollment method with authenticated mode enabled.

In your Hexnode portal:

  1. Navigate to Enroll > Platform-Specific > Android > Android Standard Device.
  2. Enable Authenticated mode.
  3. Select the required authentication mode and type that matches your IDP setup.
  4. Send the enrollment email invite to your test user.

On the Android device:

  1. First, install the Hexnode UEM app from the Google Play Store (Tip: Installing the app before clicking the invite link makes the flow much smoother).
  2. Open the enrollment email on the device and tap the enrollment link.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts in the Hexnode UEM app.
  4. Authenticate using your configured Identity Provider credentials when prompted.

Once the IDP authentication is successfully completed, the device will finalize enrollment and immediately appear in your portal as a managed Android device.

Best regards,
